Amy Ruddle, Senior Care Assistant at The Peninsula, which is owned by Dunluce Healthcare, has completed a remarkable 100km running challenge throughout May in support of Alzheimer’s Society.

This ambitious feat, equivalent to two marathons, has seen Amy push herself and raise £500 for the vital work of the charity.

Reflecting on her achievement, Amy said:

“Running 100km in May was a tough challenge, but it was also a great way to raise funds and awareness for dementia, a cause close to my heart.

“As a Senior Care Assistant, I have witnessed firsthand the impact dementia has on individuals and their families, and that experience has deeply motivated me to do what I can to support them.

“I have received unwavering support throughout from my colleagues at The Peninsula, as well as from friends and family.

“The sense of accomplishment I feel made the obstacles along the way worthwhile, and I hope the funds raised will help Alzheimer’s Society continue its important work in supporting individuals and families affected by dementia.”

The Alzheimer’s Society is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting people affected by dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

There are currently estimated to be 900,000 people in the UK with dementia, with many undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone.
